Trusting God’s Wisdom

Trusting God’s Wisdom

Scripture

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding.” (KJV)

Encouragement

We like things to make sense.

When we can understand why something is happening, it feels easier to accept. But some seasons of life leave us with more questions than answers.

Why did this happen?

Why did God allow this door to close?

Why has the answer not come yet?

Why is the path different from what I expected?

Proverbs 3:5 reminds us that trusting God means we do not depend entirely on our own understanding.

Our view is limited. We see what is happening today, but God sees the entire picture. He knows what came before, what is happening now, and what lies ahead.

That does not mean we should never ask questions. It means our unanswered questions do not have to destroy our trust.

There will be times when God’s wisdom leads us differently than we would have chosen for ourselves.

In those moments, faith says, “Lord, I do not understand this, but I trust that You know more than I do.”

You do not have to understand God’s plan completely in order to follow Him faithfully.

Trust the wisdom of the One who sees the whole road.

Prayer

Dear all-knowing Father,

I confess that I often want everything to make sense before I trust You. Help me remember that Your understanding is perfect while mine is limited. When I have questions without answers, keep my heart anchored in who You are. Give me faith to follow Your wisdom instead of depending only on my own understanding.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

First Step Challenge

Write down one question you have been asking God.

Underneath it, write:

“Lord, I may not understand this, but I trust Your wisdom.”

Ask God to help you release your need to know every answer.

Thought for Today

I can trust God even when His wisdom is beyond my understanding.
