Trusting God to Provide

Trusting God to Provide

Scripture

“And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19 (ESV)

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (KJV)

Encouragement

Needs have a way of becoming worries.

We wonder whether there will be enough money, enough strength, enough time, enough help, or enough wisdom for whatever lies ahead.

Before long, our minds can become filled with “What if?”

What if I cannot handle this?

What if the money does not stretch far enough?

What if something unexpected happens?

Philippians 4:19 reminds us to look beyond our resources to God’s resources.

God’s provision does not always arrive in the way we expect. Sometimes He provides by changing our circumstances. Sometimes He sends another person to help. Sometimes He gives wisdom to make a difficult decision. And sometimes His provision is the strength to endure something we hoped He would remove.

God knows what you truly need today.

Trusting His provision does not mean ignoring responsibilities or refusing to plan wisely. It means doing what we can while remembering that ultimately our security is not found in what we possess.

Our security is in the God who cares for us.

Bring your needs to Him today.

Then trust Him to provide in His way and in His time.

Prayer

Dear all-knowing Father,

You know every need I have before I even bring it to You. Forgive me for the times I allow worry to take control. Help me faithfully do what You have given me to do while trusting You for what I cannot provide for myself. Thank You for being my faithful Provider.

In Jesus’ precious name, amen.

First Step Challenge

Write down one need that has been weighing heavily on your mind.

Beside it, write one way God has provided for you in the past.

Let yesterday’s faithfulness remind you that you can trust Him today.

Thought for Today

My needs may be great, but my Provider is greater.
