Trusting When You Cannot See
Scripture
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
2 Corinthians 5:7 (ESV)
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” (KJV)
Encouragement
It is easier to trust God when we can see evidence that things are moving in the right direction.
But what about the times when we cannot see anything happening?
The prayer still seems unanswered. The situation has not changed. The door has not opened. The direction we hoped for is still unclear.
Those are the moments when faith becomes especially important.
Walking by faith means we do not base our confidence only on what we can see. We base it on what we know about God.
We know He is faithful.
We know He is wise.
We know He loves us.
We know He sees what we cannot see.
You may not understand what God is doing in your circumstances today, but your limited view does not mean He has stopped working.
Faith says, “Lord, I cannot see what You are doing, but I still trust You.”
Sometimes the strongest steps of faith are taken when the road ahead remains hidden.
Keep walking with Him.
Prayer
Dear loving Father,
Sometimes I struggle to trust when I cannot see what You are doing. Help me remember that my faith rests in You, not in what I can see around me. When circumstances are unclear, strengthen my confidence in Your character and Your faithfulness. Help me continue walking with You one day at a time.
In Jesus’ wonderful name, amen.
First Step Challenge
Think about one situation where you cannot see what God is doing.
Write:
“I cannot see the answer yet, but I can still trust God.”
Read that sentence again whenever doubt begins to take over.
Thought for Today
I do not have to see what God is doing to trust the One who is doing it.
