Day 1 – Come to Me
Scripture
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Jeremiah 33:3 (ESV)
“Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.” (KJV)
Encouragement
Prayer begins with an invitation from God: “Call to me.”
We do not have to wonder whether God wants to hear from us. He invites us to come to Him. We can bring Him our joys, our fears, our questions, our needs, and even the things we do not know how to put into words.
Prayer does not have to be complicated or eloquent. It is simply turning our hearts toward God and talking with Him. Sometimes our prayers may be long. Sometimes they may be only a few words. What matters is that we come.
As we begin this month of Walking in Prayer, remember that prayer is more than asking God for things. It is spending time with Him. It is learning to listen, trust, surrender, praise, thank, and seek Him.
God is inviting you today: “Call to me.”
So come.
Prayer
Father, thank You for inviting me to come to You in prayer. Help me to remember that I can talk with You about everything. Teach me to seek You, listen to You, and trust You more each day. May this month draw me closer to You and deepen my walk with You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Thought for Today
Prayer begins when I answer God’s invitation to come to Him.
